Väsen Brewing Co. – Forest Hill reimagines the neighborhood brewery as an eclectic, community-driven interior landscape rooted in humility, movement, and shared making. The design abstracts movement and local geography into spatial rhythms, etched topography, and community-built material elements. Client needs for expanded amenities and flexible programming are met through adaptable strategies such as partitioned event zones, dual-bar operations, and layered social spaces informed by intergenerational use. Acoustic, structural, and adjacency challenges are resolved through cost-conscious systems and operable glazing, while material honesty, local fabrication, and expressive lighting define a resilient, flexible brewery shaped by its users.
