LILLIAN OYSTER HALL

Lillian Oyster Hall reinterprets the traditional raw bar through a distinctly Richmond lens, blending coastal nostalgia with the industrial character of Scott’s Addition. Informed by architect Enrico Taglietti’s “inside-out” philosophy and the convivial spirit of a lake house dinner party, the design treats the building as a raw shell activated by interior life, prioritizing atmosphere, warmth, and human experience. A flowing 52-foot bar anchors the space as both social infrastructure and experiential focal point, encouraging interaction between guests and staff while dissolving the boundary between preparation and dining. Through the interplay of exposed industrial materials, warm domestic textures, and layered seating moments, the restaurant becomes a balanced environment that feels both refined and familiar, contemporary and lived-in.
